ArtWorks Studios is a place where you can release your inner creative genius.

We offer something for everyone whether you're looking to take a class, have a party, purchase unique handmade gifts and original artwork. You can even take private lessons from a real working artist to really learn drawing, painting, or clay pottery or sculpture techniques. We offer customized mixed media artwork from your photographs, child Handprint plaques (that the child helps create and glaze if old enough), and Charcoal portrait sketches (done in about 30 minutes while you sit).

Instructor : Lori Rene'

ArtWorks Studios owner and instructor is Lori Rene' Brown, a local professional artist. Lori currently resides in Brandon, and has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in both Ceramics and Painting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a member of the Mississippi Artists Guild and teaches classes at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson. She has worked as an art instructor with various art grants programs including Links to Learning in Lamar County and currently teaches for the CASA program at St Richard School in Jackson.

Lori loves to inspire others and to see their creative expression evolve. She loves to get the creative gears turning and help people to discover their own unique artistic passion. She works with people of all ages with the youngest being around 2 years old in the Preschool Picasso classes all the way up to age 102 (if you're 103 she will even come to your home to help you paint). She specializes in private and small group lessons, but can also handle large groups (her largest group was a group of 160 students on a field trip at the Museum of Art).

Lori also creates custom charcoal portraits, paintings, and other commissioned works. Lately she has been into making unique textured paintings with lots of color, simple shapes and creative use of found and recycled materials. She is working on a 96 foot mural at Lakeside Presbyterian Church Preschool and has created several airplane and motorcycle portrait paintings. She's gotten pretty good at drawing "boy stuff" so if you know someone who has a motorcycle or plane this makes a great gift.

Lori also likes to think and dream by the reservoir as she draws, paints, and searches for old driftwood to carve into sculptures. Create Each Day with Lori Rene'.
